Stakeholders are those who may be affected by or have an effect on an effort implemented by an organization, agency, and/or institution. Identifying and engaging with stakeholders can assist in the progression and success of the public health goal, vision, and efforts. In this course, participants will learn characteristics of stakeholders, how to conduct a stakeholder analysis, and how to engage, manage, and communicate with stakeholders.
An Introduction to Stakeholders
By the end of the lesson, participants will be able to:
- Explain how stakeholders contribute to public health goals.
- Name and describe three types of stakeholders in public health.
- Describe strategies to build a coalition.
Stakeholder Analysis and Mapping
By the end of the lesson, participants will be able to:
- Describe how to identify stakeholders.
- Conduct a stakeholder analysis.
Stakeholder Communications
By the end of the lesson, participants will be able to:
- Describe and define the components of SOAR.
- Identify personal and organizational strengths when working with stakeholders.
